What’s on in February: 8 Different Things to do in Dublin

What's On/ 14 January 2018
Back to list

Ok, we admit February can be a bit cold and wet in Dublin (as it can be in most of Europe if we’re honest) but that doesn’t mean there aren’t lots of things to see and do in our wonderful city.

Here are our recommendations:

1. Rugby

Every February the world’s biggest and best rugby championship starts: the Six Nations.

From the first weekend in February until St Patrick’s Day, Ireland, England, France, Wales, Scotland and Italy will battle it out for the title of Six Nations Champions. We start in Paris and our first home match will be against Italy on February 10th. It’s going to be epic this year. Here’s the 6 Nations match schedule.

2. Little Museum Of Dublin

We can’t get enough of this place. The Little Museum Of Dublin is a brilliant way to spend half an hour – and it’s practically next door to us. Through February and March they have a special exhibition of Ireland’s Fashion Radicals – a celebration of 1950s & 60s Dublin fashion. Get tickets.

3. St. Valentine’s Day

Always a big deal in Dublin. If you’re stuck for ideas, have a word with one of our concierges who will recommend romantic restaurants and things to do. Of course, the Fitzwilliam Hotel has some fantastic offers on accommodation, dining and afternoon tea.

The Lighthouse Cinema is showing a night of Bolshoi Ballet perfection on the 12th with The Lady of the Camellias. This is one of Alexandre Dumas, fils’ finest works and it tells the story of a naive new arrival to Paris, Armand, who falls in love with a courtesan, Marguerite. 6. Macbeth

Always one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays, this is a modern and lively retelling of the tale. There will be eight performances at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre and you can get your tickets here.
