Things to do in Dublin in Summer 2018

Dublin/ 1 June 2018
Back to list

Ahhh, summer in Dublin. There’s nowhere quite like it – in fact it’s so good they wrote a song about it. If you’re planning to visit our home city, then here’s what we think you might like to see and do while you’re here:

Kilmainham Gaol

This is the number one Dublin visitors’ favourite, according to TripAdvisor. It’s also the one attraction that our guests always say is awesome. Here’s where to book tickets to Kilmainham Gaol.

The Book Of Kells & Trinity College

The famous Book Of Kells was written and illustrated by monks over 1,000 years ago. Today you can see it with a different page every day on display in the gorgeous Trinity College. You can read more about the Book Of Kells here.

Guinness Storehouse

The home of perhaps the most famous beer in the world is also one of the most visited attractions in Europe. Book your visit to Guinness Storehouse and we promise you won’t regret it.

Temple Bar

This is where it’s all happening in the city centre. Our artisan left bank is a hive of activity, song, music, dance, pubs, restaurants, galleries and craft shops. It gets pretty lively at night. In fact, it gets very lively, so plan your visit to Temple Bar carefully.

Jameson Tour

The Jameson Distillery tour has become a huge attraction for visitors in the last few years. Our guests tell us they love it so put it on your list and book your tickets in advance.

The Little Museum of Dublin

Book a visit to the Little Museum of Dublin and it could well be the best 30 minutes you spend in Dublin. Another important reason to go is that it’s only about 50 meters from our front door.

Glasnevin Cemetery

1.5 million Irish men, women and children are buried here, including most of our patriots, literary giants, actors, politicians and Dubliners from all walks of life. It’s well worth a visit, especially if you have Irish roots. Check it out.

Dublin Horse Show

For many, The Dublin Horse Show at the RDS is the highlight of the summer. It’s certainly the biggest annual sporting and social event in Ireland, bringing in over 100,000 visitors from home and abroad to the city. From August 8th to the 12th.

Dublin Comic Con 2017

This year the Dublin Convention Centre will once again host Dublin Comic Con on from Friday August 10th to Sunday August 12th.

So there you have it: Enough recommendations to help plan the trip of a lifetime to Dublin this summer. If you need more suggestions, read our What to do in Dublin in June or just follow us on Facebook  for great ideas and up-to-date news.
