Summer has well and truly gone by now but Autumn is a great time to come and explore Dublin and there are loads of things happening. Don’t believe us? Then take a look at our top 9 things for you to do in October:
The Full Monty
Simon Beaufoy’s brilliant musical stage play came from one of the most admired British movies ever. The Full Monty returns to the Gaiety Theatre (just around the corner from the hotel) from October 1st to 6th.
Robert Plant and Van Morrison
Two of the greatest musicians of their generation are getting together just to please you. It all happens at Bluesfest in the 3Arena on October 28th.
Heineken Champions Cup – Leinster Rugby v Wasps
The Heineken Cup, or whatever they call it this year, is back and reigning champions Leinster will take on London giants and former champions Wasps in the RDS on October 12th. Even if you have only a passing interest in rugby, try to catch this Heineken Champions Cup match – it’ll be sublime.
Guinness PRO14 Leinster Rugby v Munster Rugby

Roderic O’Conor and the Moderns
If you like your art, you’ve got to get to the National Gallery on Merrion Square to see their Roderic O’Conor and the Moderns exhibition which runs until October 28th. It’s the first time in 30 years his work has been shown like this so whatever you do, do this.
J Con
This is the second J Con and it bills itself as the most fun anime, manga and cosplay event to hit our shores. If nothing else, J Con Ireland 2018 looks totally unique. It’s on Saturday October 6th.
Cirque du Soleil
The world’s most spectacular circus comes to Dublin’s 3Arena in October. This one is called Cirque du Soleil: OVO. Don’t miss it
Andrea Bocelli
You can catch the astonishing Andrea Bocelli in Dublin on October 30th and 31st in the 3Arena.
Jeff Lynne’s ELO
On Thursday October 25th Jeff Lynne is bringing his Electric Light Orchestra to Dublin’s 3Arena in what promises to be a spectacular show. Imagine – all of those iconic songs together again.
