Looking for suggestions for things to do in Dublin in June? The weather should be warm (and hopefully dry) so we’ve picked some cool outdoor activities for you to choose from as well as one or two indoor ones in case it rains. This is Ireland so it probably will.
Here are our picks for things to do in Dublin in June:
1. Bloom Festival
Ireland’s biggest and most successful garden, home and food festival takes place over the June Bank Holiday (2nd – 6th) in the Phoenix Park, Dublin: Bloom in the Park is also one of Ireland’s biggest annual tourist attractions.
It’s organised by Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board, and is in its 10th year of showcasing the high standards in Irish food and horticulture. As always, there will be lots and lots of exhibits on show including cooking demonstrations, tastings, show gardens, sculptures, botanical art, craft displays as well as open farmyards.
2. Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon
On Monday June 6th, over 40,000 women will take to the streets of Dublin to walk, jog or run this unique 10km event.
The Dublin Women’s Mini Marathon is an extraordinary event: Part social with so much fun and chatter, part physical as it helps women to reach their fitness goals and part philanthropic as the participants raise money for their chosen charities.
3. Dublin Kite Festival
The third annual Dublin Kite Festival will take place on June 12th on the beach at North Bull Island, Clontarf on the north side of the city.
This is a really popular afternoon event with kites and fliers from all over Ireland (and Europe) coming together to create a visually incredible spectacle. There’s also lots of music, food and other family attractions planned this year.
4. Breakfast at Tiffany’s
This is a new stage and music production of Truman Capote’s classic tale of Holly Golightly which was so memorably portrayed by Audrey Hepburn in the iconic 1961 film, Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
It’s going to be a sparkling, sophisticated production because it stars the multi award-winning Pixie Lott as the main character. The show will be staged from June 13th to 18th in the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre.
5. Taste of Dublin
It’s back – Taste of Dublin is returning 16th -19th June to the stunning Iveagh Gardens, just around the corner from the hotel.
Once again Ireland’s culinary stars will line out to delight you: “Over four indulgent days the city’s latest, greatest and hottest restaurants will each fashion together exquisite signature dishes, allowing you to create your dream tasting menu at the ultimate foodie festival.” Sound good? It’s simply amazing and worth planning your vacation in Dublin around. Tickets are on sale here.
6. World of Coffee Dublin 2016
Organised by the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE), World of Coffee is the flagship event in the European coffee calendar and is bringing coffee professionals and coffee lovers together from across the globe together for a celebration of coffee from 23rd to 25th June.
This year, it’s in Dublin and we’re expecting thousands of people from more than 100 countries to converge on the city for Europe’s greatest coffee gathering.
Well, that’s your June holiday in Dublin taken care of. Remember, if you’re planning a vacation in Dublin or are looking for things to do, keep up-to-date with our suggestions and news by following us on Facebook.
