Welcome to our Easter Rising Podcast
Download the audio tour and take it with you on an incredible 1916 walking tour of the important locations, battle sites and flash points between the hotel and the GPO on O’Connell Street, the very centre of the Easter Rising 100 years ago.
This wonderful podcast was made by local historian and author Donal Fallon exclusively for Fitzwilliam Hotel Dublin.
Our 1916 Walking Tour is designed to give you a real feel for what happened as it takes you through the city on a living history tour. He’ll take you to the Royal College of Surgeons next door to us, into St. Stephen’s Green, down to College Green, over to O’Connell Street and across the Ha’Penny Bridge to Dublin Castle. You’ll see the site of Nelson’s pillar, the houses where the rebels were stationed and even, remarkably, the remaining bullet holes in the GPO.
Now get ready for a walk through the 1916 Easter Rising…
